Stock- type: These are most inexpensive kind and can be bought from any sporting goods store. It is not possible to do many adjustments to it . It is very uncomfortable and bulky to use. Its hard to breathe sometimes while wearing this type of mouthgurad.
Boil and Bite Type: This is available at any sporting goods store and is more ccomfortable and better fitting than the stock-type. Before using it, it is palced in hot water to soften and then placed in mouth to form a shape arround teeth and tongue.tenarecommend their use.
Custom-Made Mouth Guard: This is the most comfortable, well-fitting and provides the most protection. It is custom fitted to your mouth at your dentist’s office. Impression is taken of your mouth and a mold is made with a special type of plaster. At Serenity Dental, we use the most advanced technology by Dentsply called Drufomat Scan to make the custom fitted mouth guard.
Q. How much does it cost to have a custom made mouth guard?
A. The range is $100- $140 at most dental offices as it involves the lab bills.
